What an Optician Does
Opticians are not eye doctors, but play an important part of your eye care team. They are trained to use a prescription provided by an optometrist or ophthalmologist to design and fit corrective lenses and frames. In general, they receive a one- or two-year degree or certification and are not qualified to diagnose or treat vision problems or eye diseases.

It allows your optician to take a single measurement to record your eye rotation center for each eye, as well as your natural head posture, eye position, visual behavior and frame measurements – all factors that are unique to each patient and can impact lens performance.
The information is then used to create individualized lenses just for you. Try on different frames and take photos at different angles to see how you look. You’ll also be able to select different lens materials and desired add-ons, such as anti-reflective coating to help eliminate glare.
