To obtain this prestigious certification, which is awarded by the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, candidates must meet nationally recognized standards in ophthalmic administration, including finance, accounting, marketing, operations and management.

The National Board of the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives require candidates have at least three years experience in the industry and, once certified, meet a 50-hour continuing education requirement every three years.
