Dr. Trevor Elmquist Earns COE CertificationTo obtain this prestigious certification, which is awarded by the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators, candidates must meet nationally recognized standards in ophthalmic administration, including finance, accounting, marketing, operations and management. The National Board of the Certification of Ophthalmic Executives require candidates have at least three years experience in the industry and, once certified, meet a 50-hour continuing education requirement every three years. Elmquist has practiced ophthalmology for more than 15 years and specializes in medical and surgical eye care. Founded in 1992 by Dr. Trevor Elmquist, Elmquist Eye Group provides comprehensive eye care to thousands of patients in the Fort Myers, Cape Coral and Lehigh Acres area. Services include comprehensive eye exams and diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eyes, glaucoma, presbyopia, myopia, hyperopia and other eye conditions. Dr. Elmquist also is a founding partner in the University Eye Surgery Center. Optometrist Dr. Kate Wagner joined the practice in 2006 and is now a partner with the group.
